Dr. Nazim Mahmood,. God bless you, may you rest in peace. Amen
No Muslim, Christian or person of other faiths will deny that God is the final authority,  or the master of the Day of Judgment, that he alone knows what is in one's heart, and that he is the only one who can punish for what one believes or does, without hurting others.

You, me and members of the society have a right to punish if someone robs, rapes, steals or breaches a contract or cheats on his or her spouse, other than that what one does without hurting others is up to God. If you don't pray, no one on the earth has a right to force you to pray or punish you for not praying except God, and God does not do that instantly, but on the Day of Judgment when the entire world is done with.  This should be crystal clear without any ifs and buts.

As a Muslim spokesperson, since no other Muslim wanted to speak, I have spoken in several conferences at Universities and Churches about the issue of Gays and Lesbians. I have written here at this site -http://www.WorldMuslimCongress.com – and have stood up for the rights of Gays and Lesbians.  http://standingupforothers.blogspot.com/2012/05/standing-up-for-gays-and-lesbians.html

I will not consider myself a religious person or a Muslim if I don't stand up for the rights of fellow humans, regardless of what they believe or not believe.

With an exception of a few  (don't beat yourselves up, Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Jains and other Immigrants and born here's do the same), most will not accept their off springs to become Gay or Lesbian. However the new generation will not have that problem. Most of them are free from the bigotry of race, religion, nationality and other issues. Unless you are free, you don't know the beauty of living a life without prejudice.

It is not easy for parents to accept.

The question we need to ask ourselves is - if our love is conditional! Should our kids be our copycats? That is, if our offspring fits our standards, behaves like we want her or him to, and does what we do...don’t we want our kids to be themselves? Shouldn’t our love be unconditional? Love is about freedom and not enforcement of our culture, faith and other things on the loved ones.

I am proud of my son and daughter in law, we had a discussion about their son, what will they do if their son becomes a gay? The counter question was, "if he becomes gay, will he not be our son?" The kids they love will continue to be loved; our love should not be weak. Imagine the self esteem and sense of security my grandson will have knowing that his parents and grand parents love him unconditionally.

God is not a villain of Gays and Lesbians, he loves all of his creation and advises us to learn, learn about each other and care for each other. May be our generation has not harnessed the God-given brain to understand all of his wisdom, but God willing, the next generation will do that.

God says in Quran, if he wanted he would have created all of us precisely alike, but he chose to create each one of us to be unique with our own thumb print, DNA, taste buds, religion buds, sex buds and other uniqueness. Let’s not be judgmental, if we can learn to respect the otherness of others, and accept the God given uniqueness of each one of us, then conflicts fade and solutions will emerge, will not lose our loved ones and peace will prevail.

Be a Rahmat, a mercy to fellow beings. At the top of every chapter in Quran, it says God is merciful, that is the first and major most quality of God. Prophet Muhammad was a mercy to mankind; shouldn’t we be mercy to fellow humans?

All I do is ask you to stretch your capacity to understand the wisdom of creation and the harmony with which it functions. Let’s preserve that and let's pray for Dr. Nazim Mahmood, may God bless him and rest in peace. Amen.

Additional comments:

It is a human weakness to feel superior to others, they use one criteria or the other. Every society in the past has been cruel to others, particularly those who are weak, women, children, handicapped, caste (I hate to write the word lower class that is commonly used in India) or other minorities including gay and lesbians.

Growing up in India, I saw how the transgender were treated, at times I have cried – people made them feel deprived….how humiliating.. the treatment of Dalits is abusive and inhuman even now.

Uganda, a Christian country has passed the laws that if you know someone who is gay and did not turn them in, you are liable for punishment; they passed the laws on he instigation and funding of American evangelists. In Iran and Saudi Arabia, they harass them; there are no laws on their books to kill them.

In the US,
supposedly the advanced nation – we still have bigots. Gay guys have been killed here in Dallas, and every few days you see that.  The good news however is acceptance has started, thanks to Obama and the Pope for taking the stand and paving the way. Both these men are true men of God.

India had acceptance
but the supreme court has turned over the Delhi court ruling for gays and lesbian rights. I wrote in protest and a big letter.
No nation, no people of faith can cast the first stone. We all have to stand up for the rights of each other to create a better world.

Psychopaths, bestiality, incest and necrophilia are a violation of other people’s right. Homosexuality is not, it is consensual and rather natural. Shamefully rapes happen both in the glbt and straight communities and both are to be condemned.

Quran and Bible condemns lewd behavior of the specific group in the story of lot. Please remember God is not a villain of his own creation.

You probably did not read my essay.  These were carefully chosen words, obviously you missed it.

In incest - the girl or boy is scarred for life emotionally- that is hurting Showing finger calling names even slapping... Don't last forever, homosexuality does not hurt or takeaway anything from anyone

Thank you

Gay doctor 'killed himself after his mother told him to seek a cure for being gay

A Harley Street doctor killed himself by jumping naked from his luxury penthouse apartment after his Muslim mother asked him to seek “a cure” for being gay, an inquest heard.

Dr Nazim Mahmood, fell four storeys to his death from the balcony of his £700,000 flat in a West Hampstead mansion block on July 30.

An inquest at St Pancras Coroners’ Court heard Dr Mahmood had told his mother he was gay and was in a 13-year relationship with his fiancĂ©e Matthew Ogston just days before his death.

The court heard Dr Mahmood had kept his sexuality secret from his Muslim family in Birmingham fearing they would refuse to accept it on religious and cultural grounds.

But having returned to the family home to celebrate Eid, the 34-year-old revealed his sexuality after his mother asked him if he was gay, the court heard.

Mr Ogston, who lived at the penthouse flat with Dr Mahmood, told the inquest yesterday: “She had suggested to him he needed to see a psychiatrist to see if he could be cured. Together I think they agreed they would get through it.

“Telling someone they needed to be cured would not be the easiest thing to take.”

The court heard Dr Mahmood, who had never suffered from depression or any other mental illness, had taken drugs mephedrone and ketamine shortly before his death.

Dr Mahmood was a GP who also ran Face Clinic London - a chain of medical clinics providing wrinkle treatments such as Botox and chemical peels.

Mr Ogston wept in court as he told of his love for Dr Mahmood, describing him as his “soulmate”, and insisted his fiancĂ© had given no indication of any intention to kill himself.

Mr Ogston added: “He always wanted to help other people, always put other people first and wanted to care for people. He was quite simply the most amazing man I’ll ever meet in my whole life.”

Coroner Mary Hassell ruled that Dr Mahmood took his own life.

She said: “It seems incredible that a young man with so much going for him could have taken his own life. But what I’ve heard is that he had one great sadness which was the difficulty his family had in accepting his sexuality.

“It seems desperately sad that in 2014 a person should feel that they can’t be accepted because of the way that they live and I can only feel the deepest sympathy for Nazim that he felt so sad and desperate about this that he took his life.”

Dr Mahmood graduated from the University of Birmingham medical school in 2003 and moved to London a year later.

He worked in a number of teaching Hospitals in different specialities including, accident and emergency, HIV medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology and paediatrics, before completing his specialist training as a GP.

In 2009 he founded Face Clinic London with a colleague, Dr Anita Kapoor, with clinics in Soho, West Hampstead and Harley Street.

Dr Mahmood fell from the penthouse in Fawley Street, just off busy shopping street West End Lane, at about 5.35pm in front of traumatised children and shoppers.

He was left lying on the pavement for almost four hours covered only by a thin red blanket.

Scotland Yard later apologised for there not being a tent available to cover his body.
